KIADB is the acquiring body for Bangalore Metro Project, christened as “Namma Metro”. This Project is envisaged not only to be a major component of the Bangalore city transportation infrastructure but also to significantly reduce carbon emissions. Besides being an environment friendly project, Namma Metro adds to the comfort level of travel.
The Project has an East-West Corridor – 18.10 km long, starting from Baiyappanahalli in the East and terminating at Mysore road terminal in the West and a 24.20 km North-South corridor commencing at Nagasandra in the North and terminating at Puttenahalli in the South. Out of a total of 42.30 km system about 8.80 km is underground section and balance about 33.50 km is elevated. Total 40 stations are planned, out of which 7 stations are underground, 2 at grade and 31 are elevated.
